SCOPE: Identity
I created a colourful photographic illustration of modern brutalist architecture using paper cups as a material offers a unique fusion of rigidity and playfulness.
The stark, geometric forms characteristic of brutalism can be sculpted from stacked, cut, and arranged paper cups, mimicking the imposing concrete structures typically associated with the style.
By incorporating bold, vibrant colors, the design challenges the traditional monochrome aesthetic of brutalist architecture, injecting energy and contemporary appeal. Strategic lighting and shadow play can emphasize the texture and depth of the composition, enhancing the illusion of solidity despite the lightweight material.
This approach not only reinterprets brutalism in an unexpected medium but also invites a fresh perspective on architectural storytelling through graphic design and photography.
